ZuYan, where are the cards?

ZuYan wanted to flash the card to me, imitation though.
So I sat and he flash but I walk away after awhile and let him work on his own.

Later, I found that three cards are missing.

This is the fun part.
I cannt get mad at him every time I found something missing and I don't expect to find it by asking him "ZuYan, have you seen ...?" or "ZuYan, where is ...?"
Sometime he will surprise you. He did know what are you looking for and where it is.

This time, he saw me picking up the cards from the floor, he came and help.
When I though I have pick up all the cards, he pulled out one card from underneath of wardrobe.

After big hug and thank you then I found two cards are missing.
Where else? It must be underneath the wardrobe.
The wardrobe is too heavy to be moved.
Make two more new cards!

ZuYan is reading!

I think I heard he say "toes" when i hold up the card "toes" before I say it.

Light and easy

Emm.. the progress of the reading has been slow and easy, if compared to what is stated in the book "How to teach your baby to read".

In the book stated, start with 5 words and add in 5 words each day up to 25 words. Then drop the oldest word and add in new words start with 1 word and up to 5 words each day.

I have been slow or "WE" have been slow.
With the in and out household works, my freelance works, meal time, shower time, nap time, playtime. We actually left not much time. And, since the timing, the mood, the ambience when the cards are flash are important, One day we could only do 1 group of words.

Finding the right time is crucial. If ZuYan's does not shows any interest when I hold the cads and ask "Want to play the word game?". I will not do it. On certain day, we did not do the cards game at all.

Introduction of reading card

Today I really want to kick off the reading card, not one langugage but three languages.
Flash English follow up with Mandarin. 5 words each. Rest at least 30 minutes before flashing Bahasa cards.

ZuYan shown good respondence. He wanted to look at the card again and again.
I guess, for him it is something difference from the dots card.
After flashing the cards, he wanted to hold the cards and point to the words.
This is the main reason why I wanted to do the reading so much.
Through observation he likes to point at words and waiting for me to say the words. So I think this is the best time to introduce the game.

I did not forget what I read.
End the game before he lost his interest, but if he is not allowed to hold the cards to point and look at it, I think he will cries as his desire is not meet and the game will ended with a unplesant moment
